Kaloo Tools is a set of utilities (document conversion, image editing, video mixing, text to speech, speech to text, merch design) built by Kaloo Technologies. This page explains what data the app touches and where it goes.
Documents, images, audio and video you open in Kaloo Tools are processed locally, on your computer or in your browser. They are not uploaded to Kaloo Technologies. Exported files are written only to the locations you choose in the save dialog.
The Speech to Text tool is the one exception: when you choose cloud transcription and enter your own OpenAI API key, the selected audio is sent directly from your device to OpenAI's transcription service under OpenAI's privacy policy. The key is kept only for the current session and is never sent to Kaloo Technologies.
Signing in is optional. If you create a Kaloo account, we store your email address, display name and the assets you save to the Asset Center on our servers at tools.kalootech.com, so they can follow you between devices. We do not sell this data or share it with third parties, except as needed to run the service (hosting providers).
Your sign-in token is stored on your device using the operating system's secure storage. Signing out deletes it.
Preferences such as your chosen FFmpeg location, recent settings and the session-only Pro unlock are stored on your device and are never transmitted.
The app connects to the internet only to: sign in and sync Asset Center content with tools.kalootech.com; send audio to OpenAI when you explicitly use cloud transcription; and open links you click in your browser. The Video Studio runs a local-only media server on your machine (127.0.0.1) to preview timelines; it is not reachable from other devices.
The Video Studio and Speech to Text tools use your microphone only while you are recording, and only after you start a recording. Recordings are kept on your device.
Kaloo Tools contains no analytics SDKs, trackers or advertising.
Kaloo Tools is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.
